'Wake-me-up' Cheesecake Brownies (TWD)
Sometimes, I silently wish I'll have the opportunity to learn the art of perfecting milk frothing and latte art. Coffee, is just an indescribable experience on its own. A good cup leaves one yearning for more and a bad cup leaves one feeling grouchy and kicking from a malfunctioned high. And ever since I was put behind the counter of drinks operations in the cafe, the desire to learn these skills elevated by a notch higher. Now, if only I could figure out a perfect setup for a part time job as a barista during my short stay in Aussie land next year.
Speaking of coffee, this week's Tuesdays with Dorie features a exotic Espresso Cheesecake Brownie handpicked by the lovely Melissa of Life in a Peanut Shell. Stunning to look at, these beauties were a major pain-in-the-ass to portion. oh my gosh, you should have seen the fridge rattle and shake in fear as I delivered one of my kicks out of frustration whilst slicing thru the gooey cheesecake layer. I watched in horror as my clean shiny canvas turned to a playground of muddy sloshings and splatterings of creamy leftovers stained the bottom. *groanz*. Perhaps I should have lowered the temperature and baked these a little longer.... darn. Whatever it is, I don't forsee myself making these in the future. For a better rendition, kinder to the eye, please head down to Melissa's page.
That first picture shows some incredible looking brownies. Are we talking about the same ones you are cussing. The swirl looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteMy topping did the same thing as your brownies. Not a keeper for me either.
WoW!!! The swirling looks phenomenal! Very impressed - mine wasn't that liquid-enough to do something as intricate as that. Sorry they weren't up to your standards. :) They look great (that's what's important), so don't forget that!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I'm sorry that these were so difficult to cut up. And what a shame because your swirls are just gorgeous. Also, I agree with you 110% about coffee. :)
ReplyDeleteToo bad they didn't work out. Your swirling is beautiful though.
ReplyDeleteOH MY would you just look at that swirling! I could not get any swirling, it sank to the bottom and I tried to guess where it might be, but no swirls for me. Yours looks perfectly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, bummer! I think this was a week where we needed luck on our side (maybe there's only so much TWD baking luck to go around each week?).
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you get points for swirling.
P.S. your lime meringue tarts look great!
Ciao ! You should consider making marbled paper ! You are really good !!!
ReplyDeleteamazing swirls! too bad for the cutting issues.
ReplyDeleteI think the swirling looks fantastic! And I always wonder how they do that with the cappucinos - like... how did you make that flower design using frothy milk!?!?
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't even know you had cutting issues with the first picture. Really pretty.
ReplyDeleteiii happen to think your brownies look awesome!! :) much prettier than mine!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that these weren't for you - but they look gorgeous!!
