We fall utterly silent, albeit for the appreciative hums that escape our lips between bites. It's a ferociously interesting night out with the boy, and based on all the delicious rumours that were circulating about this basement joint; we were half anticipating the night to cumulate in a smack down of exhilarating flavors. And boy weren't we disappointed.

This buzzy all-dayer has the smooth and swanky feel of a private member's club, but the food of your favourite British auntie, albeit swooshed up a nosh in terms of presentation. The menu features an array of dishes, ranging from small plates to larger full sized portions to encourage flexibility and communal dining; and that is precisely what you witness when dining at The Disgruntled Brasserie - large groups or passably comfy setups of quartets bent over a plethora of dishes, passing it along in a convivial atmosphere.

Lest we forget, a good burger is a thing of beauty. Oneness in the patty fat-to-meat ratio and sauces knitting all into a 'perfect burger'. It's satisfying, messy manifestation of all things umami: beef, melted cheese and tomatoes, all ready to be augmented by additions such as bacon, relish, slaw... there are a few things culinary that can be relied on to do their job as effectively. Much less in a tidy package. But hey, it's personal, a burger does the job of lifting the spirits for me, it might not for you, but hold on to your horses as I reveal one of the newest burger kids on the 'Ann Siang Road' block. Get your paper towels ready.

Break out those new champagne flutes. Hey, break some glasses in the midst of the alcohol debauchery, who cares, the weekend is here!
For those looking for a space to daydream and nurse those ridiculous hangovers the next day, look now further than Oxwell & Co's newly introduced weekend roast. As you walk down down the naked streets, now nursing a different serene quality from the one observed during the wilful weekends; you'll find a rejuvenation corner in oxwell and co. - a hard rocker that adopts a party stop reputation by night and a refined bistro by day.

Remember the bohemian space, like a dingy pub gone rogue that once churned out the darnedest Christmas menu I've ever laid eyes on? (read about it here) They've returned with an equally lunatic deal for the satisfaction of the fairer sex whilst their other half does the usual pub-crawl to placate the dog-tired humpday spirit.
Every Wednesday from 8th June 2016 onwards, ladies get to enjoy a glass of Perrier Jouet champagne followed by an exclusive three-course dinner menu specially crafted by the deft Head Chef Nick Scorpion, finished with a chaser of sweet nothings in the form of a dessert cocktail pairing. Read, cocktail and dessert inclusive, for a tight package of just $50++. OH...Oxwell and Co; you've got other business owners wagging their droopy tails in bewilderment. But then again, being on the receiving end, you'll come to realise that this deal is indisputably worthwhile.
