The Clifford Pier: presents a localised Singapore Heritage AfternoonTea

COM

The Clifford Pier is in a league of its own. That's in terms of heritage value as well as ambiance. First and foremost, being a landmark built to serve as a landing point for immigrants and other sea passenger, the place is steeped in history and it's emulated through the grandeur and majesty of the venue which Fullerton has painstakingly taken to restore.

For a taste of localised flavors, interlocking tastes of sambal chili, dark soy sauce and garlic; look to The Clifford Pier's new Singapore Heritage Afternoon Tea. The selection of 8 savoury and 8 sweet items, a thoughtful representation of Singapore's culinary past and present. Make sure to complement your afternoon tea experience with a choice of beverage ranging from local Teh Tarik to a selection of excellently curated tea, each touting a fancy name such as Silver Moon and Magic Moment.

O'Coffee Club: Afternoon Tea Set

Sometimes I reckon I can be a little selfish, but here's a deal I would love to share with you guys before the ticking of the clocks rule the end of it. Running till the end of this month, O'Coffee Club will be dishing out their mid-day offering from 3-5pm daily until the 30th April.

If you're like me, and living it up like a tai-tai isn't quite your traditional practise, do allow me to persuade you to let your guards down just this once.., mainly because in contrary to popular belief, indulging in high tea does not have to be an expensive experience.

O'Coffee Club three-tiered high tea spread is priced at a wallet friendly $28++ each, comprising a mouthwatering lineup of sweets and savouries with a choice of premium and gourmet beverages.

Breaking it down, the top tier features a pair of gargantuan Raisin Scones with browned crust and pillowy soft insides. Delicious when eaten on its own, the homemade orange peel mascarpone does give it an edge.

Following which, the other highlights of the second tier include the Chocolate eclairs, Carrot Cake and Mango Diva amidst the jaw-dropping stash of goodies. Unlike the usual run-of-the-mill renditions, these do carry an air of finesse with the moist carrot cake stealing the limelight.

Those looking to fill in on something a little more substantial can jump to the bottom tier with an array of 3 different sandwiches,. The Smoked Salmon Sandwich being my favourite of the lot with the fluffy focaccia as a base and a generous serve of smoked salmon and honey mustard dressing adrift.

To be perfectly honest, I cannot find a reason to deny this treat, especially if you're caught in the predicament of whether to have lunch or indulge in a bit of tea time, in that case, the afternoon tea set at Coffee Club will fit you perfectly. Nothing like a quiet cozy space to chill the dreary afternoon away.

Note that this will be available at O'Coffee Club Milennia Walk, Paragon, Raffles City, Wheelock Place, Wisma Atria and Changi Airport Terminal 3 only until the 30th April.
