SAVOUR Wines 2016: reasons to visit Singapore's BIGGEST ever Food and Wine Festival

If you did patronize the SAVOUR event in May this year (read about my experience over here); you would have known what a huge success it was in combining the prowess of several home-grown culinary talents and their mentors together with the magic of fresh produce from far-away lands all under one roof! Good news! as SAVOUR makes a second comeback this year with an event that piques the interest of wine-savvy members with a larger-than-life wine market housing over 400 labels of wines, specially curated from all over the globe.

Food Gourmands need not feel left-out in this event as the food aspect is equally represented as well throughout the Gourmet Village and the ever-popular Cheese Room and Oyster Bar. Access to the Gourmet Village is free for all, and it is here that you'll witness 9 of the best homegrown superstars work the stoves to produce innovative culinary creations. These efforts are driven by the 'DBS Live your Dreams' Campaign which aims to grow Singapore's culinary and form a supportive platform as these chefs continue to pursue perfection in their career. Featured teams include Darren Chua and Danial Syed  from The Study; Fiona Ting and Bjorn Shen of Bird Bird as well Gabriel Cher and Adam Penney of Three Buns just to state a few; the full list can be found on the website (link here)

Just to give an idea of the kooky creations they've got awaiting your indulgence...

Definitely some irresistible treats among many others that alone, justify making a trip to SAVOUR Wines 2016.

If wines are your jam, you'll be pleased to know that out of the 400 labels featured at the festival, you'll get tipples from South America, California, Australia, Spain and Argentina. Entry to the Wine market is granted in the form of pre-purchased tasting cards at $15 for 10 wine tastings and $20 for 20 wine tasting. Every pre-purchased card also comes with a limited edition SAVOUR wine glass.

Other highlights of SAVOUR Wines include Masterclasses which educate consumers on wine pairings and tasting etiquette (first-come-first-serve basis with a cap of 20 guests per class) and the L'Espace Martell for an alternative spirits choice for guests to enjoy cocktails fitted with the luscious French cognac.
