Nestled comfortably within the newly renamed Four Points by Sheraton Singapore (formerly Riverview Hotel), restaurant and bar The Best Brew has unveiled its latest offering of the sizzling monthly Brew & BBQ night. The perks are plenty. For a romantic night out, the establishment boasts an intimate view of the Singapore River, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Inside, the bar churns out live music for a fun night out.
For the craft beer geek, however, this place is a hidden gem. Hotel patrons are entitled to two complimentary glasses of Tall Tale Pale Ale per room per night for the duration of the stay. Easy drinking and perfect for the hot Singapore weather, this sessionable ale is brewed specially for The Best Brew. Clocked in at an enjoyable 4.3%, the combination of Cascade, Centennial and Pacifica hops boasts a citrusy punch and great for refined palates. Its hoppy finish pairs well with the bar bites served up. After each pint of Tall Tale Pale Ale ($16++), one can surely tell interesting tales.
For the buffet enthusiast, you are in luck - look no further than The Best Brew's monthly Brew and BBQ nights. On the first Friday of every month from 6 30pm to 9pm, patrons can expect a sizzling spread of gastronomical delights, all paired with a selection of free-flow beer. This all-you-can-eat promotion is reasonably priced at $58 and features bar bites, salad bar and dessert counter. The barbecued delights comprises of platters of Tiger Prawns, mini Strip-loin steaks, chicken teriyaki and middle-eastern styled Grilled Chermoula Salmon steak; all grilled with the warm amber glows of the BBQ in sight. For those with sweet dispositions, you may choose from the New York Cheesecake, fresh fruit and other assorted cakes.
Of course, what is life without variety? If you cannot wait for the first Friday of the month, The Best Brew has their own "even happier hours" that extends from Monday to Saturday, 3pm to 9pm and on Sundays, for 12 hours from 11am to 11pm. Patrons are welcome to partake in a bucket of Best Brews - a choice of five international beers for just $38 nett and receive a 20% discount on one bottle of Mini Moet & Chandon Champagne. Moreover, a 50% discount also applied for selected beer, house pour wines and house pour spirits during said Happy Hours.
And that's not all. Patrons can pair their meats with a selection of Beer Brews & bites - these promotions change every fornight, so do check whether they have these sumptous marraiges of meats and tipples before you go forth. Pairing Kirin Beer and with Yakitori Chicken balls ($15++), Max beer with Korean Grilled Pork ($15++) (my personal favourite, the caramelization on the skewered pork, enhanced by the warmth of kimchi on all sides, impossible to deny), the classic Australian Brewery Pilsner with Panko Crusted Soft Shell Crab and finally Tall Tale Pale Ale with Chicken Rice Ball($16++) - one is certainly spoilt for choice.
But what is beer and food without entertainment? Let local bands serenade you with live music on selected weekday nights while three wide-screen television screens broadcasts live sports events to boosts the convivial atmosphere.
